Eve Elford

Eve is a music therapist candidate and a music educator passionate about inclusion and uplifting mental health through music. She is a recent graduate from Wilfrid Laurier University where she completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy, receiving Honours with Distinction and a minor in Psychology. During her degree, she completed a 1000 hour internship at Starling Community Services, where she gained clinical experience supporting youth in a mental health centre as well as older adults living in long term care. 

Eve takes a person-centered and trauma-informed approach to her work, aiming to create an environment tailored to each client’s goals while prioritizing empathy and respect. Through a resource-oriented perspective, she focuses on building upon each individual's existing strengths to promote self growth. Eve is driven by a belief in accessibility and strives to expand opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to create and engage with music. 

Eve loves singing as well as playing a variety of instruments such as piano, guitar and bass. She values creativity as a source of joy and self-expression in her own life, and hopes to create similar opportunities for others. As a guitar, voice and piano teacher in the Guelph and Waterloo regions, Eve prioritizes fun and creativity to promote a lasting love of music. When not making music, Eve enjoys spending time with family, friends and pets, volunteering as a Special Olympics basketball coach and working as an Inclusion Support Worker.
