Music Groups at Day Programs & Group Homes

How does this benefit your program?

Music Therapy provides an engaging and interactive program for individuals with varying abilities and communication styles. Music provides a unique experience that encourages everyone to participate and work collaboratively. 

There are many benefits for adults that engage in music therapy including;

  • cognitive stimulation 
  • movement and entrainment
  • emotional expression and release
  • communication and reminiscing 

What happens in a session?

Our team will bring everything required for a one hour session. We provide tuned and un-tuned percussion instruments, movement props and other equipment as needed. During a session participants will have the opportunity to; 

  • move and dance to live music
  • discuss lyrics and reminisce about songs
  • playing a variety of instruments (no skill required!)
  • sing, vocalize and hum 
  • learn basic musical skills or songs
  • improvise and create their own songs
